It must be true. I read it on the Internet.

As I already mentioned, Snopes is a fantastic site that provides the real truth about a lot of strange stories. So their expose on Mr. Ed, the talking horse, is a harsh reminder that "you can't believe everything you read."

Or did you not follow the More information link yet?

It's fun, sometimes, to laugh at the really stupid people who keep writing to HistoryLink to insist that Stephen King's Rose Red telemovie must be a true story since Beaumont University has programs dedicated to it.

It reminds me of "martinlutherking.com." The address, which has a legitimate-sounding URL, used to be filled with a clearly written, professional looking site that seemed to contain a lot of useful biographical information about Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. The more you read it, though, the more negatively it portrayed him. With some digging around, it was discovered that the hate site was linked to (sponsored by? written by? paid for by?) David Duke, the infamous state representative and Klansman. Don't bother looking for it now; the site now redirects to porn.
