Brownies and Cookies

It's a twenty six page document. It's a military standard. It's a cookie recipe!

It's not really surprising that the government has a written standard for making and packaging oatmeal cookies and chocolate brownies that includes such important rules as the oatmeal cookies must taste like oatmeal (note that this rule does not apply to brownies), the brownies "shall be firm but not hard," the bags shall withstand 14 psi of pressure...even the color of the ink used to label the cookie bags is described.

Although I don't know why these two different foods are covered by the same document (don't you dare get any of the that uckky oatmeal on my brownie's chocolaty goodness).

But what's so great about the Internet is that now you can read it for yourself! Or any of these other standards, too.
